When a lorry driver gets married

Earlier this year I was asked to capture photos of some special centre-pieces for James on his wedding day, after hearing the details of course I agreed.

James and Lisa tied the knot on the 14th June at Barns Hotel, Cannock.

As a lorry driver himself James thought it seemed only fitting to have some lorries at their special day. The courtyard looked amazing filled with 3 Scanias all decorated with traditional wedding ribbons in the colours of James football team, Blackpool FC.

There was James current lorry a 540 Scania Topliner which he drives for Stuart Harvey.

Tim's M A Ponsonby Scania 650 and A Hingley’s Number one Golden Griffin Scania 730.

James worked for M A Ponsonby for 14 years and it was a massive part of his life and the driver Tim has been a friend for 25 years, so it made sense to include the lorry. James also briefly worked for A Hingley and his Dad was a driver with them for 20 years so it also held memories for them both.

They were a beautiful sight and not only caught the eye of the guests, but many passers by too. Several guests also wanted to sit in the lorries and pose for photos which created some lasting memories for the couple.

Being on a busy main road many cars and lorries slowed down to see them and several people visiting the local pub couldn't resist grabbing photos and asking about them. Not something you see everyday, but when a lorry driver gets married it is only fitting to include a lorry or 3 at the wedding.
