Warm welcome up North

Updated: Oct 29

Earlier this year I came across a post about a car meet happening over in Lancashire. It just happened that I would be in the area on that date visiting family so I dropped the organiser a message to introduce myself and see if I was ok to pop along and take some photos.

Joanne was lovely and said I was more than welcome.

The meet itself took place on a large car park usually used by a retail outlet village. The club had been given permission for it to be used out of hours for a static meet.

It was a warm summers evening and there was a large mix of cars ranging from modified motors to classics like a beautiful retro mustang. I wandered about with my camera and spoke to quite a few people, being up North everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was a really relaxed atmosphere with no judging what people had brought along, very refreshing for a car meet. Since then I have been in regular contact with the club and have become one of their club sponsors and social media moderators. They have lots of plans for the future and I am looking forward to seeing where they go with it.

Stance Lancashire UK was founded and originally started up on Facebook by a friend of Joanne's called Kamil. This was around March 2022. Joanne helped him as a Co owner for a few months at the beginning and then a few months down the line life got very busy for Kamil with work, family and study so he handed the ownership of the club over to her where she is now the official club owner.

Initially the club was set up to try and bring people back together within the car community. A safe non judgemental place where they can show off their prides and joys. A place where it feels like one big car family. The club is an old school club where they hold the members at the heart of it, because obviously if they didn't have members they wouldn't have a club.

The club has members from all over the UK, not just in Lancashire.

Joanne said 'I suppose the club is something similar to the 90s vibe, the best era for car clubs and meets.' They hold car meets and drive outs and have competitions and discussions, plus regular posts on there socials showcasing members cars so everyone feels involved and valued.

The club also regularly collaborate with other local car clubs as they want to bring the car community together in whatever way they can.

The club also have their own range of merch including hoodies, lanyards, keyrings, stickers and are visable across a range of social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram. This means they can reach a wider audience and help grow the club gowing forward and the merch gives a sense of belonging. Members with all types of vehicles are welcome, it's doesn't have to just be a car and best of all membership is free.

I would definitely recommend checking them out, and you are guaranteed a warm and friendly non judgmental welcome.
