Car Farm Social, a Thursday night tradition for local car fans

After coming across details of the 2021 Car Farm Social Meets I got in touch to see if I could get involved. I am proud to say I have been the Official Photographer for the Car Farm Social Meets during 2022.

The first meet of the season was back in May on a Thursday evening. My Sat Nav chose the scenic drive through the country lanes as it's preferred route. However on arriving at the Farm car park I was welcomed by the host Adam who is the brains behind the meets.

Soon after cars started to arrive. Most of them parked up and made their first stop the coffee van located on site, and who could blame them.

Once people had had their caffeine fix and the car park filled up people were soon mingling and chatting and admiring each others pride and joys.

This then became a weekly tradition for me, and many others. Every week was different, there were a real mix of old and new cars, from Mclarens and Mustangs, to Fords and Hondas. Every week there was a really relaxed and welcoming vibe and everyone took a genuine interest in each others vehicles. No judging, no bitching just like minded people all enjoying the same passions.

The meets have run every Thursday evening over the summer months, with the final meet of the year just two weeks ago. The meets have grown from strength to strength and attracted people from far and wide to check them out. I think a lot of that has been down to the fact it has such a good reputation for it's no crap accepted approach. Park up and behave or you will not be welcome back. Adam runs a tight ship and people have respected that. This has meant many people have also been able to enjoy the evenings with their children too, it's been a great meet to introduce the future car loving generation into the car scene in a safe and welcoming environment.

Come rain or shine people have turned out every week for a couple of hours escape to enjoy their passion and no 2 weeks have been the same, you just never know what is going to turn up through the gates. There have been famous cars that have been featured on TV, to rare cars who have been brought out just for the meets, to supercars like the Ferrari Enzo that popped in one week. It has also been well supported by local car clubs like the Shropshire Classic Fords and Volvos and Mx5 groups. From people who have been in the scene for many years, to people who chose the CFS meet as their first ever meet, I think it is safe to say everyone has enjoyed it.

Towards the end of summer CFS also launched their own merchandise including hoodies and stickers to help show support and raise awareness of the club. It was incredibly popular and 10% from sales are being donated to a local charity Mental Health Support Shropshire.

I have really enjoyed these meets, I have not only had chance to meet meet new people but I have been privileged to have photographed some amazing cars. My Thursdays just won't be the same over winter, so roll on 2023 and I can't wait to see what next year brings for CFS.
